What To Expect

Grand Canyon South Rim

After arriving by bus at the Grand Canyon National Park's South Rim, your tour guide will brief you on the highlights of the Grand Canyon so you can make the most of your time here. You will have three (3) hours of free time to explore this wonder of the world at your own pace. Your deli-style lunch can be taken with you to enjoy at one of the lookout points.

It was a good long trip we were not prepared for. I didn't read about how long it was till after booking. Our driver Wally was awesome. Make sure your prepared we got picked up at 6:30 and dropped off at 11:00pm

We booked our trip through GC Tours before we left London. We arrived at our designated pick up at the agreed time and from the moment we were picked up we had a fantastic day. The coach drivers were excellent. Our driver was Wally and he was brilliant, he was knowledgeable, informative and nothing was too much trouble for him. We had a great day and as well as visiting the Canyon, we had several ‘pit stops’ along the way, including the Hoover Dam. We were provided with breakfast, lunch and water throughout the day. I would definitely recommend Sweetings tours and Wally was the best!

We felt that the time at the Grand Canyon was limited (3 hours). On the South rim, there is a lot to see. There are places to get drinks, museums, and a hike around the rim from one viewing point to another that takes about 1 hour. The hike is worth it, it’s not really a hike. The road is paved, it’s just a walk to see the magnificent views. We were disappointed with Sweetours because we were five minutes late in getting back to the bus and the woman singled us out. It was a little embarrassing for only 5 minutes. We didn’t enjoy being treated that way. We had to wait for people before leaving initially and she stopped several times for 15-20 minute breaks. Our five minutes late wasn’t necessary to be embarrassed and then using her microphone stated to the entire bus “I apologize for the delay that was caused in waiting for two people”. Five minutes and we needed to be reprimanded in front of 50 people? I recommend a different tour company but I would absolutely recommend seeing the south rim vs the west rim
