With only one day to spend at the GC, we wanted to maximize the time, so opted for a tour. This group got great reviews here, so we booked. Our tour guide was Dustin. He was prompt in picking us up at our hotel on the Park property, and he was a thoroughly informed and interesting guide. I am always impressed by guides who maneuver the vehicles in and out of parking lots and around traffic, all the while telling us what we should be looking at and answering questions. Dustinās knowledge of the geology of the Canyon as well as plants is impressive and helpful.
The day included a trip out of the Park to the Cameron Trading Post on the Navajo Reservation for lunch. It was sub-par and a waste of time. Lunch could have been better handled within the Park and saved a round trip back and forth. Especially for the people who join the tour in Flagstaff, this is a lot of time on the road!
We came away with a new level of appreciation for this great geologic wonder that is the Grand Canyon and applaud Canyon Daveās efforts to share it.
