We took a party of 7 on the West rim Flight seeing on the first flight out at 7:30 am and 3 of us upgraded to the heli boat tour. The service team linked the bookings so we could all be on the same plane. Our pilot Mr Smith was excellent and took care of us well. The on flight Audio advised us of some interesting facts about the landmarks like the hoover Dam etc . Those that did the Heli and Boat tour, had a great treat with an amazing drop into the Canyon and then a local tribe member taking us up the Colorado river and telling us lots about the area and the tribe etc. We were not rushed with our elderly passenger. There are a few steps to the boat to negotiate. So be aware of this for anyone struggling with stairs . They helped her sit a rest at stages on the way back up. The boat trip was actually our favourite part. Once back we just had enough time to do the VIP Skywalk and look around some of the Rim hiking path, so if you want to stay a long time you might want to consider this and see if more time can be added before a return flight as all in all you get about 3.5 hrs to fir everything in at the ridge end. Due to the 30 mins flight and 30 mins check in time on return. Plenty for us but we used every minuet of this without taking a leisurely lunch until we were back in Vegas. All in all a bucket list item ticked off for us.

This trip was Ā£Ā£Ā£ but did deliverā€¦. On time pick up from hotel Flight the Canyon was in a small plane, a wee bit bumpy though. Pilot was excellent and reassuring. Flight was about half hour, amazing views of hoover dam and lake mead. 17 people on flight. Next was the chopper down to the canyon floor. Totally awesome. 6 people. Flight was about 10 minutes, literally landed on a small flat patch and let out and then handed to the boat people who were from the indigenous people. The boat trip was short, maybe about 20 minutes, but felt very connected with nature. 8 people on boat. Then did the whole thing in reverse. Overall was away from hotel about 8 hours. Some previous reviews complained about the time between each piece of the trip. We liked that, as it did not feel rushed, and had time to chat with folk and take everything in around us. Also, my husband has limited mobility, and at every stage the team we were with were helpful and supportive and made it happen. No complaints at all.

This was our first time going to Grand Canyon. The Canyon of course over delivered. The helicopter ride to the bottom, and pontoon ride following were wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed hearing about Hualapai tribal history and what the Grand Canyon means beyond tourism. We also very much enjoyed interacting with the people sharing the experience with us. However, the logistics were poorly managed. Weather caused the operators to have to reschedule excursions from the day before onto our scheduled day. We booked the VIP tour that included everything. Our plane to the Canyon was over 20 minutes late. We were told that but communication ended there. We waited nearly 45 min for our helicopter. Once it was time for the Skywalk we had no maps and no one had any idea what time our flight back was supposed to leave. We stood around waiting for our shuttle driver to get this information about 5-10 min. At 14:02 we were told we had to be back by 14:45. Yikes! What started as a leisurely time turned into a frustrating race to the finish. We spent a few minutes at the skywalk and Eagle point, could not explore Guano point at all, and stood in line waiting for a shuttle back to the main terminal so we didnā€™t miss our flight back for about 15 min. When we got back to the terminal, we had no idea where we were supposed to meet. Our group of 6 ā€œVIPsā€ were able to negotiate a partial refund but we canā€™t get the time or experience weā€™d paid for back. Terminal staff told us Skywalk wasnā€™t meant to be a long stay. Itā€™s like they had no idea there was a line out there for photos. We didnā€™t even try to get those. The staff were friendly and we still had a good time overall. They just need to improve logistics and communication. NOTE: Straight Wing planes are bumpy. Bring Dramamine or something for motion sickness if you have that tendency. Also, bring snacks and water. Nothing is offered., but there is access to snacks and water at the terminal and skywalk stores. Though it says donā€™t bring a bag, most folks had one without issue. We were picked up at 8:15a and back at nearly 18:00. Bring a sweatshirt or jacket for air conditioned transport. We will do the Grand Canyon differently next time.
