What To Expect

Talkeetna Air Taxi

You will start your excursion by checking into our log cabin office at the Talkeetna State Airport 45 minutes prior to your flight departure. Be sure to bring your sunglasses, light jacket (in the summer) and plenty of memory on your camera. Board our ski-equipped aircraft and enjoy your pilots' commentary about the geological history and local wildlife on your individual headset. Continue your flight above Talkeetna and over the river systems of the Susitna valley as you enter into an incredible landscape of icefalls, glaciers and snow peaks. You'll be awed by the Great Gorge of the Ruth Glacier, filled with a 4,000 foot thick river of ice, making this one of the deepest gorges in the world. Travel further into the range to explore the seven major glaciers that blanket the southside of the Alaska Range. Add a glacier landing onto your trip for a highlight of your Alaska vacation. This will add 30 minutes onto your trip time for this chance to bask in awe inspiring scenery.

What an incredible experience! Our pilot, Melissa, was absolutely wonderful! She pointed out the best parts and made turns with the plane to make sure everyone saw the best views. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience!

AN ABSOLUTE MUST DO! We did the 2 hr Grand Denali Flight with the Glacier Landing in June 22. It could not have been more awe-inspiring! I was hesitant to book at first because I tend to get motion sickness and it was a long flight. So glad I did. It was truly amazing. This was our second trip to Denali National Park but we had only done the park service bus tour previously. It was great, but no comparison to this one! The vistas from the air are unbelievable! Melissa, our pilot, was super skilled and provided great narration, pointing out mountains and glaciers and providing interesting facts in a natural cadence. The flight and glacier landing were smooth and the weather was great. Words cannot describe the grandeur and magic viewed on this flight! AN ABSOLUTE MUST DO! Don’t hesitate. The ground staff was friendly and efficient. We were picked up from, and returned to, our hotel. Special waterproof grip booties were provided. We only needed light jackets. It can be challenging for seniors to climb into the plane, but well worth it. As was the price. STUNNING views of the Alaska range, Denali, glaciers, and land around Talkeetna. Don’t miss it! First class service and unimaginable views!
