BrushBuck Wildlife Tours
After early morning pickup from your Jackson Hole hotel, your naturalist guide takes you into Grand Teton National Park. Even in the quiet of a snowy winter, wildlife can be spotted in the park and your guide knows where to look for animals. On any given day, you could see moose, bison, bighorn sheep, elk, mule deer, bald eagles, golden eagles, pronghorn, coyotes, or even wolves as you explore the park. At midday, come in from the cold to enjoy lunch in the famous western cowboy town of Jackson, Wyoming. After lunch, head back outside for a horse-drawn sleigh ride at the National Elk Refuge. Snap social media–worthy pics of the large herds as your guide explains how the elk migrate from the surrounding area to the refuge, a 24,700-acre (9,996-hectare) winter sanctuary to 47 different mammals and nearly 175 species of birds such as trumpeter swans and bald eagles. At the end of a memorable 8-hour tour of this winter wonderland, your guide returns you to your hotel where your tour ends.

Brett was an excellent tour guide. I even found out from him, why the Jackson airport is so primitive, which struck me when i first arrived there. He said it took 50 years for Grand Teton to become a National Park (Yellowstone only took 2 weeks) because private landowners did not want a NP to bring the people. So part of the compromises was to build only a 1 story primitive airport, where you have to walk and walk from getting off the plane on the runway, to the small airport building, in the snow and ice. Brett went on and on with much detail about the history of how the Park came to be, the battle between private land owners, and the actions of the different Presidents of the United States, about the history of the wolves, the buffalo. I learned so much! Brett was so diligent on trying to find us wildlife to view. We did see 7 moose in different areas, coyote really far away. After lunch at a really nice place, the Wort Hotel, he dropped us off at the Elk Refuge bus. The wind made it sooooo cold on my face while in the sleigh. I thought the entire tour was well worth the money.
