What an awesome experience we had! Our guide, Connie, was PERFECT! She met us early and kept us late. There were four of us in the company's Surburban which gave each person prime viewing from the windows. Connie gave us lessons in geology, biology, history, sociology... you name it, and did so with such a pleasant personality and professionalism! We have been to the Grand Tetons before, but never knew so much about the flora and fauna of the area as we learned on our tour. We saw elk, mule deer, pronghorns, a wolf, several moose, and beaver at the beginning and middle of our tour. We searched for the elusive bear which Connie had seen nine days in a row, but it was not in its usual habitat. We were rewarded at the end of our tour as we traveled down Moose-Wilson Road near the Laurance Roosevelt Visitor Center and pulled up next to a mother black bear and her three cubs! Traffic had stopped and the park rangers were there to stop traffic headed into the park, but we were the lucky ones who got to within 25 feet of the bears as we drove by! Connie was very particular about teaching us the park's rules and obeying them herself. She knew we were planning a visit to Yellowstone and even gave us tips and suggestions about what to see and what time of the day to see it. And she was right! This trip is well worth the time and money spent. We didn't regret a penny spent. So much had closed during the first week in October, but we couldn't have chosen a better time to go since the weather was cooler, the crowds were thinned out, and the aspens were in their full glory. And we couldn't have chosen a better guide to help us see and understand it all!
