Akila provided a great tour. Loved the variety of food and establishments. The visits to each place were made even more satisfying by hearing the history of the locales and meeting the owners. Great way to explore both up and coming neighborhoods and well-established areas of Atlanta.

I joined Akila's Downtown Southern Food Walk two weekends ago and had a fantastic time! This tour is a great way for both locals and visitors to get a sampling of both the culture and cuisine of Atlanta. Akila did a great job of laying down the foundation of the tour with a brief but informative summary of the food history in the South, combined with the history of the Civil Rights Movement. Our food stops were a fantastic mix of Soul, Southern, Lowcountry, Cajun and a bit of Creole. The food was filling enough for a lunch and were superb choices. The walk was a comfortable one - we barely felt the two miles since the stops broke it up nicely. It's early fall here in Atlanta - perfect walking weather! The tour is well organized but also allows for some spontaneity, like when we ran across a set of the show The Walking Dead and stopped to look at it. Her website and info in the welcome/registration email is very clear and has all the info you need, including what to bring and Return Directions since the tour doesn't go back to the starting point. Akila is very engaging and friendly and makes sure that her guests are comfortable and satisfied. I highly recommend this tour! I can't to take her food tour of Buford Highway when it starts in the spring!

The Atlanta Food Walk the best way to capture the spirit of Atlanta's history and culture. Our group of 13 participated in a private tour. Akila was extremely patient and even extended the tour to accommodate the enjoyment of beverages along the way. The Atlanta Food Walk is a Must-Do!
