We've been on several food tours around the country and Europe. This was one of the best we've been on. Akila was a wonderful host and was extremely knowledgeable about the different types of food and weaved a lot of history into the tour. Akila was extremely personable and was very eloquent in her delivery. She kept the tour moving but also allowing for ample time at each stop. Without giving away each of the food stops, Akila was very conscienous about food allergies and was very accommodating to those on the tour who were gluten free. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the Downtown Atlanta Food Walks Tour with Akila and highly recommend this tour when in Atlanta.

13 of us girlfriends took a food tour of Atlanta this weekend as part of a gift from my very good friend for my 50th birthday. What an awesome experience that was with Akila, the owner operator, narrating the civil rights history and connecting it to the food and culture of the south. From the 1st meal at Paschals to the last tasting at the municipal market, there was nothing there not to love. The best fried chicken and sweet potatoes this side of the Mason Dixie line, a juice bar, praline tasting, Moonshine tastings and the best barbecue and shrimp and Grits you've ever tasted and great live music - what a pleasant surprise that was! Come hungry. Leave full and satisfied and full of new found knowledge of local history and lore. Thank you Akila. It was a pleasure just to see how invested you were in the local history and bringing it to your visitors. Good luck with the business.

The food tour took us through historical sections of downtown stopping at several great restaurants where we were served Southern cuisine. Each location was great from the food to the service. Akila's history talk as we walked from place to place was informative and fun. It was a great way to see Atlanta and try some typical Southern food. I highly recommend this tour.
