Minimum age is 12 years old AND they must weigh at least 100 lbs.
Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent OR an adult 21 years or older with a signed waiver from parent
Minimum weight is 100 lbs (45 kg)
Maximum weight is 260 lbs (117 kg)
Dress code: Closed-toe shoes are preferred but not required; shoes with any heel can be a challenge, and weather-appropriate layers; no hats
NOT NOT NOT recommended for anyone with mobility issues; must able to stand unaided for approx. 2 hrs.
NOT recommended for anyone who has had recent surgeries for joint replacement.
NOT recommended for those with vestibular or unpredictable blood sugar issues.
You are welcome to wear a mask for any part of this tour experience, though we have no mask requirements at this time.

Once you feel comfortable on your Segway, head out through downtown to the historic West End. As you travel through these buzzing areas, you’ll come to understand why Greenville is noted as the fastest-growing urban area in the state and was voted one of the ‘Top 10 Fastest Growing Cities in the US’ by CNN Money.

GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail

From here, venture to the Swamp Rabbit trail to experience a different side of Greenville. This 18-mile (29-km) multi-use trail system runs along the Reedy River and connects Greenville County with schools, parks and local businesses. As your guide will explain, this trail follows the bed of a former railroad nicknamed after the indigenous swamp rabbit.

We have done many segway tours, and this one was not a favorite for us. The guide was kind and tried to gear his information toward what we were interested in, but there was not much history given--It was more "this is this and that is that." There were not many interesting stories, and the presentation was a little dry. The one upside to the tour was that we got more time to ride the segways for fun than we usually do on a segway tour, so we did enjoy and appreciate that.

I was the only person on my tour and we went anyway. Marshall did a great job of training me on the Segway and keeping an eye on me to be sure I could handle it. He also tailored the tour to add in some locations that particularly interested me. He was an excellent guide and I really appreciate all he did. Although I've been on Segways before and feel comfortable on them, it really helps to have an excellent sense of balance. Otherwise it could be nerve racking as you're going through downtown and there are lots of twists and turns, crossing streets and uphills and downhills. I highly recommend this tour. It made me fall in love with Greenville even more than I already have!
