What To Expect

Greenwich Village

Local actors will take you on a fascinating walking tour of several Greenwich Village bars that are rich with literary history. Inside each bar, you’ll relax and have time for a drink as your tour guides weave fantastic tales of the history of the establishment and of some of the greatest authors who have hung out, drank and written there- writers who helped shape both the village and the world. Along the way you’ll stop at unique sites that are literary, historical, or alcoholic in nature. Add some passionate recitations, charmingly dashing guides, and a buttload* of wit – this is a tour not to miss. *is an actual form of measurement for alcohol. 1 butt load = 126 gallons or 2 hogshead

A wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Our tour leader Robert told many fun storires about the village. He even recited a little poetry We got to know a many nice pubs for later visits - and we had a few beers.

As a resident New Yorker for the last 11 years, I still absolutely loved this tour and learned soooo much. Our guides were so knowledgeable, friendly and fun. This is so great for natives and tourists alike. My only note is that it was not made clear that drinks would NOT be included in the ticket; we were responsible for all of our own drink purchases. Still very much worth it, though!

Our guides were very friendly, fun and had great stories about the artists that thrived in Greenwich Village. They struck a perfect balance between giving us information and letting us kick back and visit with each other in some great neighborhood bars. Highly recommend
