What To Expect
1
Washington Square Park
Washington Square Park is legendary. You’ve seen it in a ton of films, it’s the unofficial campus of NYU students and you’ll see some of the coolest people in the city here. Feed pigeons. Hear musicians and watch street performers. You never know what to expect. Oh except for the mighty arch which is, of course, renowned.
2
The Stonewall Inn
The Stonewall Inn is such a huge historical site - literally and figuratively. We pass by the prideful institution as well as its new statue which was installed to commemorate it’s 50th anniversary.

Dante is a fabulous guide, very knowledgeable about the local area, people and architecture. Such a nice guy, its nice to spend time with a local and made good friends with others on the tour. Food was amazing!

Great time, great food & a wealth of interesting info. But a warning—when Dante tells you that you won’t walk away hungry, believe him.

Dante, the tour director, was charming, funny, and engaged with all of us. We had a couple from London, two from Glasgow, two from Ohio, my stepmother (85 years old and has lived in Manhattan since 1959), and two of us from Dallas. In minutes, Dante was able to bring us all together as a cohesive group. The history comments were so interesting and Dante’s knowledge of the area was extensive. Oh, and the food stops were fabulous. NY bagels, NY pizza, a touch of Greek, Belgian frites (fries), gourmet pizza at another shop and ended with amazing cupcakes. Dante handles all of the food tastings but you’re responsible for your own drinks. I would certainly take this tour again and bring more friends and family. Or I maybe sneak away and do the tour again on my own!
