What To Expect

Washington Square Park

Washington Square Park is legendary. You’ve seen it in a ton of films, it’s the unofficial campus of NYU students and you’ll see some of the coolest people in the city here. Feed pigeons. Hear musicians and watch street performers. You never know what to expect. Oh except for the mighty arch which is, of course, renowned.

The Stonewall Inn

The Stonewall Inn is such a huge historical site - literally and figuratively. We pass by the prideful institution as well as its new statue which was installed to commemorate it’s 50th anniversary.

We’ve been on a couple NYC food tours before, but this was our teenaged kids first food tour, and first time in NYC. Some friends told us about Dante - he’s awesome, we had a blast. Did the GV tour, n he took us to places we hadn’t been to before. Took us through GV and West Village. He’s got the tour down - it went seamlessly. We walked in to each place or stood outside if they were just walk-up, and the food came quickly. Got a good tour of the neighborhood highlights along the way. This is his town and he loves sharing his knowledge about it and the food. And he loves getting to know his guests. “Nice guy” name checks out.

This tour was a lot of fun and LOT of food. I recommend not finishing the samples at the first few stops, like the fries, so you can enjoy the last stops! Dante is very nice and easy going. This is a great introduction to the best food in the neighborhood, as well as a bit of its history. And everyone on the tour is happy because they're eating :-).
