Great crew, Dan the owner had interesting facts to share and did a grea job running the boat and taking us to 3 different pods, all the while abiding by the legal distance requirements. Saw almost 30 different killer whales, even one jumping (breaching) from the water, though it was pretty far away. The two ladies had a wealth on info on the whales and their biology. The boat was great, with a very comfortable heated cabin area, a higher up platform for great viewing and of course the sides of the boat. Up to four people can stand or sit in the captains pilot house and have great conversations about orcas, Orcas Island and natural history of the species around the islands with Dan. Super experience, don't waste your time with other operators.

Hooray for Eclipse Tours! We saw lots of whales, eagles, seals, and birds. The entire staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. It was a great experience - whales are my new favorite animal. :) Orcas!

Wonderful crew. Everyone at Eclipse Charters went out of their way to make the trip special. Denise welcomed everyone in the beautiful waiting area with clean picnic tables and flowers by their pier. She made sure that the kids had proper head gear and waved us off on our journey. On that day the Orcas were moving fast out of the San Juan waters but the Captain made sure we got to see them. The two naturalists on board were friendly, informative and energetic. All the kids were provided with life jackets. We have been on other whale watch trips before, but this one was the most friendly and well-run. If you are going on a whale watch, please be on time, that 10 minutes could make the difference. Be reasonable, Orcas are endangered species and this is not Seaworld.
