The guide was very friendly and patient with myself and my husband. We both were nervous but he made us feel very safe even after my husband flipped his kayak. He, along with another person made it possible for my husband to get back in his kayak! We loved it all!

My wife and I had a terrific time on our paddle adventure! Our guide, Lou, was knowledgeable, friendly and great to be with. We learned about his grandchildren and his time in the Navy. We enjoyed spending a couple of hours with him. The trip, itself, was lots of fun and the highlight of our visit to Amelia Island! Lofton creek was at high tide and we lazed along with plenty of water under us! We saw several turtles and lots of flora. It was exciting navigating around and under fallen trees and branches! As we crossed under a train trestle, a train passed over it - it was very cool! You do not need to be an experienced paddler to make this trip - Lou will patiently show you how to paddle and go at your pace. I think this is an especially good trip for children - they can imagine a little of what it was like for the early settlers. You should know that the boat slip from where the kayaks leave is difficult to find - there is road construction in progress along A1A and you need to know to cross over/through the construction area to get to the boat slip. There is no other way to get to the slip. We went up and down A1A several times before we realized where we needed to be. The little bit of inconvenience did not detract from our good time, however! Go for it and have a great time!

Thank you for such a great review! You were so lucky to get to see the train cross the trestle, that doesn't happen every trip! Hopefully one day they will get the construction done... we hope to see you again soon!
