Overview

Enjoy a close, personal encounter with the West Indian Manatee as you snorkel with them under the guidance of a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain. Our small group (no more than six guests) tours are conducted daily in the beautiful Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge. Get up close and personal with these amazing mammals and learn about the ecosystem and their habitat.

Unlike many tours, these Captains will actually swim with you and your group to ensure that you have a memorable experience. While in the water, your captain/tour guide will take high-definition photos and videos of you and your group which you will be able to view and purchase at the end of your trip.

Your price includes all snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, wetsuit) and complimentary coffee or hot cocoa.

Captain Ron and tour guide Lauren were great! Our group (1 parent and 3 teenagers) had a fantastic time and Lauren got us up close to the action. I highly recommend Gulf Coast Expeditions!!

We took Captain Ron’s sunset cruise and then returned first thing in the AM to snorkel with the manatees. Both trips were outstanding. Sunset was spectacular, dolphins swam alongside our boat, and Captain Ron was good-natured and knowledgeable. He contacted us two days prior to our manatee excursion to warn us that most of them had moved on due to warm water. No worries! We were the first boat in Kings Bay that morning and found several manatees including a baby who played with us, letting me rub its belly. A lovely young woman took care of us in the water, and she was so attentive. The small group was wonderful. Take the early trip (in the water by 7 AM to avoid the crowds.

What a trip! Our group of 5 adults aged 37 - 74 years young had the trip of a lifetime with Capt. Ron and our guide Lauren. The boat was comfortable and Capt. Ron even made extra efforts for my mother who was dealing with a back injury; while Lauren took us out in the water, he took the time to find manatees and other animals for her to view from the boat. Capt. Ron and Lauren's love and dedication to the Crytal River Manatees is evident. They are involved in conservation and rescue efforts. Their knowledge of the area and the manatees resulted in our group getting (respectfully) closer to manatees than other tours. The pics Lauren took in the water were well worth the fee for the usb. Our whole group raved about our time on Crystal River with Gulf Coast Expeditions; I can't leave a positive enough review!
