Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. We own a warmblood and took our daughter and son to this farm to learn about a different type of horse. It was amazing. Low key, beautiful grounds and horses, ample opportunity to interact with horses.

Can’t say enough about this beautiful place. Everything was wonderful. The owner,Dennis, is a fascinating storyteller. I could had sat and listened to him all day. But, of course, I was there to see the horses too. What beautiful and sweet tempered animals. Interacting with them was pure joy. Do not miss this tour!!

If you have had it with the theme park crowds, if you love horses, if you love history, if you want an experience shared by a passionate couple with dreams for the Gypsy Vanner breed that Dennis Thompson introduced to the USA, if you want to get a glimpse of a working horse breeding farm.......please don't miss this wonderful opportunity! We wanted to take this tour with our horse crazy, 12 year old granddaughter and nothing disappointed us or her. We were fascinated with the hour long presentation on the history of the Gypsy Vanner breed and the efforts Dennis and his late wife, Cindy, began in 1995, when they happened to see a unique and beautiful horse standing in an English field.. A bit of mystery and intrigue surrounging the Europen gypsies will draw you into the Thompson's amazing journey. We like small tour groups, we like the "real deal" from a guide, we like hands on. You will find all of that here. Dennis and his wife, Erin, made us feel special for a couple of hours that morning. There was a great breeze flowing through the barn during the hour long, seated history discussion. Dennis blends humor, facts and and his dreams then and for the future for the Gypsy Vanners and their farm.. The last hour of the tour was a comfortable walk under shady, majestic oaks to meet the very social Vanners (don't forget carrots and apples; horse and mule feeding encouraged!) Leave drinking water and bug spray home.....they are provided. There is a rest room in the barn. This is a tour we will repeat. We hope Dennis continues to be involved in the tours while he and Erin pursue their dreams for their farm. His passion is addictive and, honestly, very refreshing. He's the tour as much as the Gypsy Vanners. And Kudos to guide, Taylor, who presided over our walking tour; with her knowlegede and ease she was an inspiration to my granddaughter!
