The Gypsy Gold Farm
our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

Dennis’ explanations were extremely informative - very passionate about the Gypsy culture and the breed. Horses are wonderful to see and meet. Great to support a farm doing so much for the greater good. Be prepared for the walking part- which isn't long maybe 45 minutes of mostly talking and standing by animals -but goes best with sneakers or other closed toe shoes and possibly ankles covered. The farm is very hospitable and provides water, coffee, nice facilities and some bug and sunscreen sprays.

Dennis was a passionate speaker providing interesting history about the horses and their Romany background. Seeing the beautiful horses in a wonderful environment was a pleasure.

The hour lecture ... fascinating history. Dennis should write his memoir at least to preserve his story for his grandchildren, and others who want to remember how Gypsy Vanners came to America.

OK Roger, "great curves and beautiful hair" you talkin about my mares like that ? I agree, it's a proper description. Thanks for your kind review and suggestion to write. Two days ago I had my fourth great grand child, so it is indeed time to put pen to paper. Napoleon once said " history is but a fable agreed upon" and that long before a thing called the Internet. His words are more profound today than they were then. Dennis
