Overview

At MMC we take pride in providing what we feel is necessary for a fun and safe ride down Haleakala. As the pioneer of the downhill bike ride we are knowledgeable of the roads, the people, the regulations, especially since we assisted in creating this industry and making it what it is today. We know the roads like the backs of our hands and can instruct you how to properly handle the roads and your surroundings. You must incorporate the knowledge of cycling within this environment, and that we are masters of. We even go a step further to ensure you feel comfortable, we stay on the mountain with you to make sure all turns are made, it can get tricky, and don't want anyone lost. This is also helpful if an incident was to arise. Last but not least we are the only bike tour company that offers free parking.

The ride was nice, but we were very concerned about safety. The bikes are very very old and the brakes do not work properly. I would not recommend this company

We are sorry to hear that you had a bad experience here but we use the most safest braking system on the mountain we have been doing this for 40 years as seen on good morning America sunset mag Wall Street journal gen Hackman mr Rodgers to name a few the brakes do work well most likely your not pulling hard enough or your were over the weigh limit of 340 lbs we take down over 100 people a day all make it down safe

Met this wonderfully knowledgeable local owner: John in a historic non pretentious abandoned bank building. Learned some great local history, then ventured to Haleakalā to ride downhill. Simple older bikes, but they work! Didn’t impact my view of the island the local landscape scenery and the drivers are very mindful of us bikers. Bring a small backpack to carry water and essentials you won’t “need” it but in case: you stop in an old town grab a local donut and keep going. Definitely an easy tour to fit in with another activity!

Expect the unexpected! The tour started off about the history of the old bank! I was kind of confused and others were too! We thought we were on the WRONG Tour! The bikes were shoddy! Flat tires, non-functioning breaks, warped bike frames and old motorcycle helmets used in place of biking helmets! It was interesting to say the least!! SAFETY IS CLEARY NOT A PRIORITY!! On the flip side, the scenery was amazing!

Are bikes are maintained daily we do not have warped frames the motorcycle helmets are much safer then bike helmets some people have never used one before and prefer the unsafe kind we will not do that been doing this for 40 years all the movie stars go with our company you can’t ride down on a flat tire so what are you speaking of sounds to me like you work for the other bike company
