Absolute must-do. Our guide Marlon shared island history and lore. The bus was comfortable and quiet. We saw a beautiful sunrise, the native guides sang a welcome to the sun, and we learned more about the history of the island, it's flora and fauna on the way out of the National Park. The bike ride was awesome. Jackets, helmets and other needed gear was provided. We loved that the trip down the mountain was at our own pace.

There is a reason this was my 3rd time using Bike Maui. I heard about the bike trip for 30+ yrs and never thought I would be able to make the trip. Well this was my 3 time visiting Maui in 6 yrs and when I decided to finally make the long journey I did a bit of research on the numerous volcano bike trip companies. Bike Maui had the best reviews so I went with them . The people that work there go beyond what you expect and make sure you are comfortable before you take off on your ride. They assure there is no shame on not be comfortable finishing the trip. After a beautiful sunset it's time for the true adventure to begin. Such a beautiful ride. This ride I was torn between enjoying the scenery at a more leisurely pace or try to break my last time getting back to the Bike Maui offices. ( I took the 2nd option) Unfortunately this was my last trip to Maui but as always the sunrise bike tour from Bike Maui was the highlight of my trip

I went with my two teenagers (both 17) and we had a great time! Freezing in the morning but hot by the time you finish … so wear layers! And have room in your backpack to stuff your layers as you peek them off. It was such an early start time, but we went the day after arriving on Maui because with a 6 hour time difference from home (East coast), we were up early anyway so it was less painful than if we had waited till later during our trip to go. It’s mostly downhill so you don’t have to worry about really biking, just a couple of smaller hills to go up & you can walk your bike if needed. Traffic was not a problem but definitely picks up after about 11am making it a little more challenging if you’re not used to riding your bike on the road. My teenagers loved it!
