What To Expect

John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza

You and your small group will depart from JFK memorial in Dallas to begin your 4.5-hour tour with a historian as your guide. Reach back into the past, when cowboys would stop at Fort Worth’s “Hell’s Half Acre” to rest and relax.

Fort Worth Water Gardens

The urban park is frequently billed as a "cooling oasis in the concrete jungle" of downtown. Its focal points are three pools of water and a terraced knoll, which helps to shield the park from the rest of the City. The quiet, blue meditation pool is encircled with cypress trees and towering walls that are covered in thin plane of water that cascades almost 90 degrees down to the sunken blue water feature. The sound of the water on the walls evokes thoughts of a gentle rain shower. The aerating pool features multiple illuminated spray fountains under a canopy of large oak trees. The main attraction of the Water Gardens is the active pool, which has water cascading 38 feet (11 m) down terraces and steps into a small pool at the bottom. The active pool experience was built for people to be able to walk down the terraced steps to be surrounded by and experience the power, sounds and motion of water crashing around them.

JFK Tribute

On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy gave an impromptu speech to thousands of rain-drenched spectators on the front steps of the historic Hotel Texas, now the Hilton Fort Worth, followed by a formal presentation at the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce breakfast. The JFK Tribute in Fort Worth’s General Worth Square marks the place and occasion of the President's historic visit with a beautiful Lawrence Ludtke bronze statue of President Kennedy set within an elegant plaza. Selected quotes from a number of JFK's historic speeches including the famous quote pictured below (no faint hearts image) are featured throughout.

Tarrant County Courthouse

The Tarrant County Courthouse was designed by the architecture firm of Frederick C. Gunn and Louis Curtiss and built by the Probst Construction Company of Chicago, 1893–1895. It is a pink Texas granite building in Renaissance Revival style, closely resembling the Texas State Capitol with the exception of the clock tower. The cost was $408,840 and citizens considered it such a public extravagance that a new County Commissioners' Court was elected in 1894. A monument dedicated to Confederate Army soldiers was erected on the grounds by the United Daughters of the Confederacy in 1953. 1958, a Civil Courts Building was constructed on the west side of the courthouse. In 2012, a $4.5 million renovation to the clock tower was completed,In 2013, the Civil Courts Building was demolished. The Tarrant County Courthouse currently houses the Tarrant County clerk's office, probate and county courts at law, a law library, and the Tarrant County facilities management department.

I felt compelled to delete my first review and update with additional information as the manager of this company felt the need to verbally attack me and misrepresent facts in his response. Please take the time to see his response in my posted photo. The tour started late in a van that was to bring us to Fort Worth Stockyards and (never advertised) also bring a couple to another tour destination. Back seat of van had non-working seatbelt. My husband and I moved to another seat that also had broken seat belt. I mention this fact as the safety of the customer's is not a concern at all for this company---only hurling insults to its patrons for speaking the truth. On the way to Fort Worth, the tire blew on the tour van. We sat in the van for over an hour with highway traffic whizzing by on each side of the van, waiting for a replacement van. Pretty terrifying as the cars and trucks sped by, causing the van to rock back and forth every time traffic flew by. from the traffic. The tour guide left 5 of us in the van, "Ill be back". He walked the other two guests to a place where an Uber picked them up for their tour. We were never offered an Uber (Why not?), just to sit in the traffic and pray we would not be hit. The tour guide called us from the safety of the other direction and said a replacement van and AAA would be coming. Prior to the tour guide leaving the van, we heard his entire conversation with the manager of the company to report the incident. Never was it asked if everyone was okay. When AAA arrived to change the tire as a replacement van arrived---70 minutes later. The tour guide was going to send replacement van away and just have tire changed. We opposed this and demanded we wanted the replacement van to finish the drive to the Stockyards. We were not comfortable making the drive on a donut! We were brought to the Fort Worth Stockyards, our time to explore and enjoy cut to an hour. And we had missed the cattle drive, the whole reason I wanted to go. My husband demanded our money back from the manager of the company. The manager never apologized, never offered a refund or asked if we were okay. He went into a tirade of how we were trying to capitalize on the situation and get a Pay Day'. Over $150?? Really? He also attacked my character and stated I had placed two reviews. Nope, just one. The manager finally said we would get a refund and that we were not welcome to travel back in the van back to Dallas. We accepted being "stranded" in Fort worth and took an Uber home. By the way, the city of Dallas claims this tour company is not licensed with the City. Hmmmm.....Maybe take your business elsewhere. Please see nasty response in photo from the company that was left after my first review. Please note that the "tire issue" was a tire blow-out at 80+mph----scary!!

Trip was supposed to start at 10. Two guests tardiness meant we did not until close to 10:15. As we are gong on I30 near Six Flags, we hear a large pop. Thirty seconds later, we can feel the tire has had a blowout. It was a bit scary moving from the left lane all the way to the right shoulder, but it got done. We got stuck in between a small opening between the three land highway to the left and an off ramp to the right. It is now 11:10 and the best of Fort Worth that I’ve seen is nothing more than the asphalt of the highway. Not the most comforting feeling having traffic whiz Bunin both sides. Makes me wonder if the maintenance history of the van we are in.

Some great scenery on this tour, the driver Daniel was full of useful information and was so pleasant and helpful. It was lovely to se the longhorns on the cattle drive. There are a vast selection of shops although when you seen a couple of them they’re all the same after that, Some great eating houses.
