Half Day Deep Sea Fishing Trip

Overview
The Reward Fleet is one of Miami’s oldest and most recognized charter fishing party boats. We run at least 3 trips daily (morning, afternoon and evening) out of Bayside Marketplace Marina in Miami.

All trips depart Miami through its main ship channel – Government Cut. Because of our location, it only takes a few short minutes to reach the fishing grounds off Miami. We usually fish the local reefs , ledges, drop-offs and wrecks in search of a variety of species – from bottom fish like snappers and groupers, to reef and wreck dwellers like amberjack and kingfish, even pelagic fish like sailfish and tuna are very common.

Fishing methods will vary depending on conditions and time of year, but be assured the captains of the Reward fishing fleet will do everything possible to put you on the fish and have great time while you’re aboard. Sometimes we’ll anchor and chum, sometimes we’ll drift while live-baiting and jigging, and if conditions permit, we’ll even put a fishing kite.

It's called fishing not catching so this review is not about fact that very few fish were caught but I was disappointed that captain did not seem to try very hard. He seemed more interested in socializing at each stop (ok so we did go to 3 or 4 locations) rather than working to find the fish. At one point we drifted into kites of private boats who were sail fishing. Mate was dutiful but did not need to work hard (I literally only used three pieces of bait in a 4 hour trip) except to in un-do all the tangles. Crew put everyone on one side of boat and assigned places - even though the boat was ou half full they put almost everyone in one place on same side of boat. And obviously saved prime places near stern for friends of crew. I've been on lots if head boats and never was told where I had to fish from on the boat. Boat dirty no food or beverages. Experience was saved by beautiful day spent with friends. It was one of those "bad day fishing is better than good day at work" days. There are better ways to spend your fishing $$ in Mismi

We are miami natives, and we been fishing in party boats since kids. We been many times the one in Ft Lauderdale called Catch my drift and we had good experiences. Also we been several times to the largest and Famous fleet in south Florida, Kelley Fleet and his legendary owner George Kelley.By far the best related with pricing and Customer Service. We decided to do to the Reward Fleet because one of my friends were staying in south beach, like 10 min from hotel. We went fishing Sunday November 9th during the morning trip. First of all boat was packed too many people, and was very hard to keep lines without getting tangle. The boat was dirty and very old wood boat. Read reviews first.

I am used to deep sea fishing off the coast of Norway, at depths of 50-150m with proper equipment. We usually catch 2-4kg fish with the occasional 7-15kg cod in between. Traveling to Miami my friends and I were excited to go out fishing for new and exotic types of fish. No guarantee for a great catch, however we were expecting a bit more than 200-1000g snappers... I have left the fishing luck out of this review as the captain actually tried to find good spots, but still this company did not deliver what you could expect for the price paid. They said upfront that the waters were calm these days but it turned out people could not stand due to high waves out there. Some got seasick as well, and the crew couldn't care less - no asking if they needed water or any attempt to help out their paying customers. This was their 8pm tour and equipment was simple and worn (no offering of changing it as they claim on their site either). They claim on their website that they help out with bait etc, however my friends and I were on our own. Main message: overfilled and overpriced ($50) tourist trap!
