We went on the Snoqualmie Falls and City Tour. Terry is a nice guy and provided a lot of information on Seattle, history and current, as well as helpful tips on taking good photos. The photo tips were appropriate to the type of cameras and degree of interest of the group - in other words, it was not overdone and boring.
This tour was a great way to get outside of the downtown Seattle area and see attractions that we otherwise would not have gotten to see since we did not have a car. The Falls are beautiful (we got some great photos there), and the Ballard Locks are very interesting. I guess the Fremont Troll is a 'Seattle thing' that we can check off our been-there-done-that list, though we found it to be bizarre - the things that become tourist attractions! Kerry Park, as promised, was a good place to get photos with the city as the backdrop. The chocolate stop seemed a bit odd. Do not get me wrong, I like chocolate, but being dropped off at a shop to run in and taste their free samples was strange. If the chocolate tour had been included, it might have made more sense (that takes an hour though). I would have preferred a stop at the Japanese Gardens. We drove past, and Terry mentioned that the wisteria was probably beautiful right now. He said we could take public transportation to come back and see it. :(
This tour involves a LOT of riding around in the shuttle. Obviously, much of that is necessary to get to the sites, but besides that, there is quite a bit of driving around and pointing things out. There were a few places where we would have liked to be able to stop for a couple of minutes and get a photo. We had to settle for attempting 'drive bys' through the windows. I understand that you cannot stop everywhere and that there is not enough time to do so; however, since this is a photo tour, it would be nice if a couple more photo ops could be given.
