LOVED IT! Nancy our tour guide was very informative. It was a small group of just me and 3 friends and we had a wonderful time. We sampled great food and learned so much about both Hell's Kitchen and Central Park. I hope to take other tours with Nancy in the future. That night we actually went and had drinks at one of the places on the tour before going to a play. We also fit in dinner at another on the last night we were in town. One of my friends is going back in a couple of weeks with her family and plans to book the tour. I highly recommend this tour!
This tour was fantastic and our tour guide Nancy was fabulous. My wife found the tour online as we were planning to do a lot of the typical NYC sites with our 14 year old daughter. This tour very much rounded out our visit to the WTC, Empire State Building, some museums, and a Broadway play. What was unique, of course, was the opportunity to travel through a storied part of the city - Hell's Kitchen, and sampling the various culinary delights while learning the history and the what's current in the area. After a brief stop, Nancy took us through Central Park and we got the complete history of the park as well as visiting many sites and scenes that we would have never seen had we not book this tour. It was worth every penny.
If you are booking this tour during warmer weather, dress to be on the move and wear comfortable walking shoes. Sun-block and a hat are not a bad idea as well. Our guide made sure we all moved at a comfortable pace and was sure to keep everyone hydrated.
I went on a Sunday afternoon with my boyfriend, and we were running late due to public transportation issues but we called Garry and he graciously held the tour for us so we could jump right in at the first location and we didn't have to miss anything. The tour was small 8 people and the food was great! Garry asks in the beginning if there are any allergies or food restrictions, as well as preferences we enjoyed different ethnic foods on our tour so Garry decided where to go pretty much on the spot. We also learned a ton of little tidbits about Hell's Kitchen and Central Park we were the only two people on the Central Park leg of the tour so it was basically a private tour!
Bring your walking shoes and your appetite! We will definitely be back to do another tour with Garry in another neighborhood!
