What To Expect

Wailua River State Park

Paddle the majestic Wailua River for 2 miles each way (4 miles total round trip), original home of the first Hawaiians, who paddled 1500 miles from the Marquesas Islands to Kaua`i almost 1500 years ago. Hear the legends and learn about the flora and fauna of Kauai`s most sacred area.

Secret Falls (Uluwehi Falls)

After hiking 1 1/4 miles through the rain forest our guides will take clients to Secret Falls also known as Uluwehi Falls. This beautiful waterfall cascades 110 feet into a refreshing swimming hole, where they can go for a dip and enjoy a terrific lunch! You will then hike 1 1/4 miles back to your kayak (2 1/2 miles of hiking round trip) Bring Closed Toed Shoes / Reef shoes / Teeva Style Sandals

Our guide Allen was excellent the trip was excellent the waterfall was excellent well worth the money and the time it takes and the hike wa very do able for people of all ages. Would do it again

We were supposed to meet at 7AM for the kayaking tour . While we were driving they notified us at 6Am that it was cancelled because of potential flash flooding. They should have checked the weather alerts and notified us the day before & not waste our time. Since there was no reception we didn’t get the message that it was cancelled until we were at the meeting location. Poor planning and weather monitoring .

We are sorry we were unable to take you out on your scheduled kayak tour. Our staff keeps a close eye on weather forecasts that are posted. We go out rain or shine. Your tour was cancelled due to potential flash flooding at the river crossing, which means the discharge level at crossings were 4 times above normal readings. Keep in mind crossing at high levels can result in life threatening injuries. Our #1 priority at Rainbow Kayak Tours is Safety!

We loved the leisure kayaking down the river. The hike through the vegetation was a little tricky but quite adventurous. The waterfall was a beautiful place and stop for our lunch. Overall, I feel like the time spent on each part of the journey was perfect. Thomas was friendly and attentive.
