What To Expect

Wailua River State Park

Paddle the majestic Wailua River for 2 miles each way (4 miles total round trip), original home of the first Hawaiians, who paddled 1500 miles from the Marquesas Islands to Kaua`i almost 1500 years ago. Hear the legends and learn about the flora and fauna of Kauai`s most sacred area.

Secret Falls (Uluwehi Falls)

After hiking 1 1/4 miles through the rain forest our guides will take clients to Secret Falls also known as Uluwehi Falls. This beautiful waterfall cascades 110 feet into a refreshing swimming hole, where they can go for a dip and enjoy a terrific lunch! You will then hike 1 1/4 miles back to your kayak (2 1/2 miles of hiking round trip) Bring Closed Toed Shoes / Reef shoes / Teeva Style Sandals

Our adventure with Rainbow Kayak Tours was the perfect way to see the beauty of Kauai in all its rugged, natural glory. Led by the AMAZING Sierra, we kayaked 2 miles up the Wailua River landing along the overgrown shore to begin our trek into the jungle towards Secret Falls. The 1.5 mile hike to the Falls and pool below took us across the river, through tall grass, and through shallow creeks. There is a good stretch of boardwalk to walk across, but you will find yourself having to climb up and down a few rough spots, but our 9-year-old made it with ease. The Falls were spectacular and Sierra took us out last so we had the pool to ourselves for a bit. Overall we had a most excellent adventure, and would definitely book Rainbow Kayak Tours again. - Tim H.

My kids (ages 12 & 14) and I had an awesome time on our Secret Falls Falls kayak tour. Our guide Zack was great providing entertainment, facts of the area and letting everyone go at their own pace. The miles flew by surprisingly fast! I would definitely recommend this tour.
