What To Expect

Wailua River State Park

Paddle the majestic Wailua River for 2 miles each way (4 miles total round trip), original home of the first Hawaiians, who paddled 1500 miles from the Marquesas Islands to Kaua`i almost 1500 years ago. Hear the legends and learn about the flora and fauna of Kauai`s most sacred area.

Secret Falls (Uluwehi Falls)

After hiking 1 1/4 miles through the rain forest our guides will take clients to Secret Falls also known as Uluwehi Falls. This beautiful waterfall cascades 110 feet into a refreshing swimming hole, where they can go for a dip and enjoy a terrific lunch! You will then hike 1 1/4 miles back to your kayak (2 1/2 miles of hiking round trip) Bring Closed Toed Shoes / Reef shoes / Teeva Style Sandals

Did the River Kayak and hike to Secret Falls with Allen as our guide. The whole experience was done well and professionally. Safety is constantly stressed making sure all are capable and will enjoy the experience. We left on the 12:45 pm trip and after 45 minutes paddling up the river and another hour hiking back to the falls we had a nice picnic lunch right at the swimming hole under the falls. A refreshing dip in the "pool" and then standing under the 150-0 falls was a wonderful experience. Allen explained a lot about trees, vegetation, all along our hike. He was helpful and kept our five kayaks herded together to make sure we were safe and okay. Our group was the last to arrive at the harbor and we helped Allen load the trailer which was a lot of fun, especially for the youngsters. The shuttle van is very modern, clean and easy to get in and out of. Snacks and bottle water is also provided along with a Dry (some call it "wet") bag for your minor precious things (cameras, cell phones jacket). All in all a great 5 start experience. Remember to take some cash so your guide can get back home at night. Note. Your shoes should be worn at all times. The hike is through three streams (you will get wet) and over big rocks. The trail is at time muddy and includes some steps up through big rocks. Sandals won't work. old sneakers or appropriate water shoes are a must

This was our favorite activity we did on the island. Zac was amazing. He made sure everyone enjoyed the excursion. The kayaking there was straight forward. The hike to the waterfall was beautiful. Although a little more difficult with the headwinds, the kayak trip back was fun and we felt like we had won the Kauai version of Amazing Race when we were the first kayaks back to the marina. Our hiking sticks helped so much and were the talk of the tour. Would highly recommend.
