What To Expect

Wailua River State Park

Paddle the majestic Wailua River for 2 miles each way (4 miles total round trip), original home of the first Hawaiians, who paddled 1500 miles from the Marquesas Islands to Kaua`i almost 1500 years ago. Hear the legends and learn about the flora and fauna of Kauai`s most sacred area.

Secret Falls (Uluwehi Falls)

After hiking 1 1/4 miles through the rain forest our guides will take clients to Secret Falls also known as Uluwehi Falls. This beautiful waterfall cascades 110 feet into a refreshing swimming hole, where they can go for a dip and enjoy a terrific lunch! You will then hike 1 1/4 miles back to your kayak (2 1/2 miles of hiking round trip) Bring Closed Toed Shoes / Reef shoes / Teeva Style Sandals

Our family truly enjoyed this excursion with “Kayak Zack”. The four miles of kayaking was not too vigorous for our group and the mile hike each way was manageable and enjoyable. Zach stopped multiple times to gather the group to ensure everyone was safe but also to encourage us to take in the beautiful surroundings. Bring extra bug and sun lotion. Thanks for sharing your joy with us, Zach! We’d highly recommend this tour and guide.

We had so much fun on this tour! Our tour guide, Thomas, was funny, patient, kind, and a wealth of knowledge of the area. The kayak part of tour was so breathtaking - the river was like glass and there was so much to take in of the beautiful landscape. The tour was a good workout - wear comfortable shoes w/good tread and you will do fine. When we arrived at the waterfall, we had time to relax and take a swim. Chilly but so refreshing after the hike! And we had the pleasure of seeing a rainbow. Thomas set up lunch for us with a fancy spread. The sandwiches hit the spot and we took our time heading back. I highly recommend this tour if you're looking for a little adventure and lots of beauty.
