I booked this trip for my family (my 50 year old parents, my 21 year old brother and myself, 23 years old) in anticipation for an outdoor experience that I had seen in reviews, meaning a few hikes through the mountains/foot hills.
Our tour guide Gentry was very kind and knowledgeable about the areas we toured. We went to Red Rocks where we took 5 minutes to stand on a high point to look at everything and that was the extent of any hiking we did.
We then had self-guided tours around the towns of Evergreen and Golden CO which were both beautiful and had their own fun quirks. I don't think we would have toured these towns if we didn't go on this tour.
My family and I enjoyed the entire tour, however, it was not what I had expected. I wanted to spend more time in remote nature. We spent probably 1/3 of the tour in the tour van on the way to those locations.
It sounds like depending on the tour guide you get, you get a different tour.

Hi kulfertsā
You're right; every guide runs the Rocky Mountain Escape tour a little differently depending on their group's interests. We're sorry to hear your expectations about hiking were not met. However, it sounds like you made the most out of the day, and we're certainly glad you did.
If hiking is your focus, we would recommend the full day Rocky Mountain National Park Hiking tour, or the half day Boulder Hike and Beer tour. Either option will allow you to take the beautiful surroundings on foot.
Regardless, thank you for allowing us to take you on a tour and for sharing your thoughts with us, and we hope to host you again one day.
