Impressive tour from beginning to end. When the first van arrived at the designated pickup location, the tour guide got out smiling, looked at the silent group of about 25 individuals pressing forward anxiously toward the 14-seat van, and warmly told us to relax, that a second van was on the way! He then pulled out his customer list and asked us to board in the order our names were called. Everyone relaxed, the second van arrived, and it just got better from there. Our tour guide, Larry, was knowledgeable, thoughtful and easy to follow. The visit to Keeneland was for us the highlight. Bottom line: starting with almost no knowledge of thoroughbreds, horse farms, racing, etc., we now have a first-hand, novice-level feel for the entire process. Two thumbs up!

On a recent "race week" trip to Lexington we decided to take a "horse farm tour". We selected this one from a group reviewed on trip advisor. This was an excellent experience due primarily to our guide. There were only 9 people in our party (6 in our group) and Nick our guide was superb. The tour was informative, entertaining, and ended too soon(we didn't want it to end) Our guide took us to farms, Keenland race track, constantly educated us on the history of thoroughbreds. If you want to take a tour make it this one-Nick as your guide if possible.

I cannot tell you how happy my mother and I were with this tour. Our tour guide was Nicholas and he MADE the tour. He is extremely knowledgeable about Kentucky, horses, the thoroughbred business overall, and specifically in Lexington. His family has been "in horses" so he has been around the business of horses his entire life. He has trained thoroughbreds around the world - from Lexington, to England, to Dubai. I can't speak highly enough about him as a guide. Truly, he made the tour. We went to all the places described on the website, but it was his sharing of knowledge and "behind the scenes" anecdotes that really made this what it was. We encountered other tours and guides during our journey. In a nutshell - DON'T GO THERE. This is the tour you want, and if you can get Nicholas as your guide I guarantee you will be happy with the hours you spend.
