This wonderful Colorado River float trip is a gently flowing section that is inviting to all ages. You’ll encounter a few small rapids as the Colorado River winds through the Gore Range and Mountain Ranchland. This is a relaxing day with time to sunbathe, swim or just relax and enjoy the day on your Colorado River rafting trip. The Colorado float half day trip is available two departures per day. This trip departs from our Kremmling Outpost, where you will check in and load an AVA vehicle for the 30-minute drive to the Colorado River. We run from Pumphouse Recreation Area to Radium on this trip.

I made reservations for 8 people. I was told if guide cancels because of conditions water level or weather I’d get 100% refund. A winter storm came in Friday (which was scheduled day to go) into Saturday. To my surprise, AVA charged me 10% of the total or only refunded 90%! I’m passing this on to be very very sure on weather before making reservations with AVA! This is clearly a poor customer service management decision.

AVA offers a 100% refund if we have to cancel our trips due to severe weather conditions. Looks like we still went out on the river that day and equipped our valued guests with wet suits and splash jackets to ensure they were warm and safe. I am sorry you were not able to make it out that day! Please join us in June and July when the weather is warm and it finally stops snowing in Colorado! I know you will have a lovely time with our spectacular guides.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this experience. It was cold, but absolutely beautiful. They give you wetsuits and if you dress appropriately, the cold won’t be much of an issue. The views and scenery were gorgeous and we felt very safe with our three young kids. Our guide Amanda was fantastic. And at the end of the trip Amanda and Clint had a little picnic set up for us with sandwiches and chips- the kids loved it! I would highly recommend this trip!!
