We had a fantastic morning with Isaiah, staff naturalist, Andrew B., first mate, and Rod, the skilled captain. Amanda in the office was wonderfully helpful, pleasant and professional. We saw dozens of humpback whales, hundreds of dolphins and many seabirds. Isaiah and Andrew are personable and knowledgeable, and we were impressed with the highly professional care and concern they demonstrated for everyone's enjoyment and safety. I'm particularly grateful that Andrew encouraged everyone to take medicine to avoid seasickness -- the ocean was lively that morning -- we bought some at their office at the last minute and were glad we did. And bonus -- as we returned to port Isaiah and Andrew serenaded us with a few sea shanties, an unexpected and delightful high point of the trip!

We did the morning tour and it was not enjoyable at all. The seas were too rough to be on a tiny boat, we were pitched around the entire time and could not get up to see anything because you had to hold onto your rail for dear life. Nearly everyone around me was throwing up, or staring off trying not to throw up. Seasickness tablets aren't effective with those kind of extreme waves. Children were crying and vomiting, it was awful. So many people kept asking the guide how much longer. Eventually at the 2.5 hour mark he said we would turn back and the entire boat cheered! The afternoon tour was cancelled that day, ours really should have been too or we should have been turned around early when they realized the poor conditions. Very disappointed by this experience, they clearly dragged it out as long as possible so they wouldn't have to give more refunds.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience. We are very sorry to hear you did not have a 5 star experience, which is a goal we strive for, for each and every passenger. Our captains have many years of experience in operating vessels and would never go out or continue to stay out in conditions that are deemed "unsafe" Our afternoons were cancelled because conditions continued to deteriorate between trips. Often times rough sea conditions can increase rapidly while out on the water and our team does the best of our ability to keep the passengers comfortable and still experience the whales. In the event of conditions being too unsafe, we have no problem turning the boat around and issuing refunds/rainchecks. Please contact us at [email protected] so that we may further resolve this issue. Thanks!
