My husband, sister, and brother-in-law just took our first rafting trip with Glacier Raft Company. Our guide, Nick, was helpful and informative. We all enjoyed our first experience rafting. There were about five class 3 rapids which got us wet but weren't too scary. I would highly recommend this trip! Tips: 1) You will get very wet, especially your pants. Bring a change of clothes if you plan to be in the park after you raft. They have changing rooms in the office building. 2) You can't wear flip-flops or Crocs. I wore Tevas and was fine, but my feet got pretty cold. They have booties you can rent for $3 or you can buy your own pair of water shoes there for between $14 and $20. Then you can at least use them again. 3) Be prepared for a little walk back to the office from the drop off point. It's not horrible but was a little cold (it was a cloudy day and we were soaking wet).

But the river is fairly tame in August so I have to admit I was concerned my older teens were bored. They never said they were so we left it at that, and our guide, Nick, was accommodating and even let our teens "lead" the raft on occasion which I think really helped them feel more important. If we were to do it again I'd send my teens on something more challenging (at least during August). Overall, a nice afternoon with a few thrills, but again, August is fairly tame as compared to earlier in the season. Glacier Raft Company is a reliable, easy, and efficient company to work with if river activities are on your agenda. I highly recommend them. We also went with them 10 years ago and I'd say they have only gotten better. Use them! Good job Nick! We'd love to come back and do more with you as our guide!
