Our driver was a lot of fun! He pointed out landmarks and told us stories! He was fast, efficient and very professional!

Our driver was great, very friendly and knowledgeable. He pointed out a lot of landmarks and history on the way. We saw lots of fish while snorkeling.

The description did not make it super clear that individual park entry tickets at $25 per person were not included. So after paying almost $400 for transportation for 5, I still had another $125 to cover once I reached the park. Then, the beach & park closed shortly after our arrival due to jellyfish. The procedure to pick up groups early was poorly put in place, especially because it seems that this is a known issue at the bay (I’ve since learned that there is an actual jellyfish calendar that shows when a high probability of having an influx of them exists). The park would not allow anyone to remain on the sandy beach, and required everyone to return to their transportation and leave immediately. Apparently the tour company was struggling to find drivers to be able to return to pick us up, and the park would not let us remain on property, so we were sent to walk uphill, with all of our chairs, umbrellas, and snorkeling gear to wait at the highway outside the park in the sun. I realize that the park is as much at fault as the tour company, but knowing that this does happen not infrequently, I expected better procedures in place for early pick up, particularly since we had a large group of elderly people with us.

Aloha Chris, When booking for the Hanauma Bay shuttle on Viator, one of the first things stated on the description is that the admission of the bay is not covered. The price you paid total that day with us was $267 not $400. The admission from the bay was refunded to everyone for the jellyfish issue so you folks got to snorkel for 2-3 hours free of admission charge. In regards to the jellyfish issue, that is not a frequent thing, it’s very unpredictable when jellyfish season does truly arrive. Even if there is a certain influx predicted that doesn’t mean it’ll 100% happen. Since we have so many beaches on Oahu they can show up on one side of the island and at times not the other. We were notified at 10:15 of the bay closing and worked hard to find drivers to be able to transport you guys back since the return time was set for 12pm. It’s hard to have a protocol in motion for jellyfish when we simply can’t control having drivers on stand by due to other tours they do during the day. We tried our best to accommodate the customers that we had booked that day but your group only missed out on a little over an hour of snorkeling. The Hanauma bay staff rushing you guys out I know can be stressful but that’s nothing we can control, what we tried to do was having someone there as soon as you guys were at the parking lot to be picked up but due to the immediate closure there was plenty of traffic in and out of the bay. Best Regards.
