We went in mainly to say we went to the Philly Hard Rock. Thus is a small Hard Rock location. The drinks are good and the food is normal. They don’t have salsa which I thought was funny bc they have nachos, but the nachos were fine. The big surprise given some of the other reviews was the great service. And…it’s close to Reading Market and a Septa stop.

When you come to a restaurant or bar and see fruit flies it is a bad sign. That means the place is dirty and has the potential for cross contamination of food and drinks. It is over whelming and surprising that they have not been shut down.

Absolutely the worst service we have received anywhere in the US ever! Server would disappear for long periods even when there was no-one else in the restaurant. She was friendly enough but that's only half of the service. Being there to take food and drinks orders and, more importantly, when we want to pay the check! This is where the service took a massive turn for the worst. She appeared with the check and was asked if military discount was available (tip: it is - 15% on food and non-alcoholic drinks). She said she didn't know but would go and find out. Fair enough. 15 minutes later she came back to say that she'd added the discount and our credit card was taken away for payment. After 10 minutes (where we could see she was serving drinks to other customers) my wife went and spoke to a manager to complain. Their response was that the server would be "back soon". Eventually the manager appeared with the check and our card giving some rubbish excuse about a till being open for another customer so that they couldn't run our check through it. There was, in my view, at least two other tills available where payment could have been made. To add insult to injury, the military discount hadn't been added. At this point it was 2 hours since we arrived (we had a salad and dessert!) so I didn't to wait for this to be corrected. I took the discount out of the potential tip the server would have earned. This meant that I left no tip but I do not feel in any way guilty about this. I am happy to leave 18-20% tips while here in the US where the service warrants it. The server here did not. I would highly recommend that visitors only visit the shop and avoid the restaurant itself.
