I've never given a poor review for a Hard Rock Cafe' before. This was my 51st Hard Rock. We were told there was quite a waiting time for a table, which is fine, but when we were seated, we noticed very few tables were in use. I figured perhaps they had a lot of reservations but no one filled those tables while we were there, so I guessed they're having the same problem as everyone else - not enough employees. I can understand that. I tried to be understanding of our service, expecting a lack of employees caused slow service, but when we did get our food, it was lacking. I usually love a good ribeye, but this one was mostly fat - and I know a ribeye is fatty - and my potatoes were barely warm. Then to get the bill and discover they've separated the liquor from the food and added a "liquor tax". Made it sound like that was a tax separate from our food - in addition to. And then I noticed that they added the tip into our bill - with only 2 of us at the table! That shocked me. I guess that's why we didn't get good service - because there is no incentive for a server to give good service. Really disappointing. (By the way, we were at 2 other Hard Rock's in California that same week who did NOT follow those rules. No separate liquor tax and no added tip on the bill.) Also - not much memorabilia either.

Frequented lots of Hard Rocks with great experiences...this one was awful, no bar service at 7pm! Told by door staff it was ok to get drinks at the bar get to the bar and the refuse to serve us as they are shut! Unreal really! We have spent lots of time in these restaurants over the years, just left Memphis and the experience there was amazing, they could learn lots from them!

Poor experience with regards to paying tip on top of bill. HRC insist on including a 20% “tip” made up of 16% for server and 4% back to HRC for “benefits and training for staff”. I paid the 20% “tip” in cash. The bill came to $121.36 (inclusive of 20% tip). I put down $130.00 in cash. The server took the money and did not return with the change. I approached the server and inquired about it. To my astonishment she rebuted with ..I thought that was my tip. I replied that I had paid a tip. Her response was ..”only 16%”. I am concerned that this is a practice encouraged by HRC corporation? If this is the case, I will never attend another HRC.
