My beau and I were looking for a sit down meal in the Capital that wouldn't cost a small fortune. We found a table at the Hard Rock Cafe, but that was really the only positive. The hostess seated us, and our waitress appeared quickly to take a drink order. We did not see her again for almost 30 minutes, at which time she apologized for the delay. There were many open tables and two large tour groups had just left, so it wasn't clear what held her up. We ordered a combo app platter amd a single entree to share. We were assured the apps would be ready shortly, however we waited another 25 minutes, at which time we were told our entree choice could not be prepared by the kitchen staff who were available. We had ordered the chicken mac-n-cheese, not something seasonal or reliant on a catch of the day. We told her we were ok with just the appetizer, as we had already decided we couldn't wait all night to finish a meal. When the bill came, our waitress had failed to remove the missing entree, and needed a manager to approve this. The wait for a manager took another 20 minutes. He was apologetic, explained they were short-staffed (must have been in the kitchen, because we counted 5 wait staff standing around the bar). We thanked him for correcting the bill, paid, and left.
Two days later, my credit card was double charged for the meal. It took another two days to correct this with my credit card company.
The atmosphere was not lively, the decor dated, and the staff overall not on top of customer service. I would not recommend.
