Highly recommend the Harlem Hip-Hop walking tour. It explains the history of Harlem and the birth/rise of hip-hop. We had the very charismatic and energetic tour guide RayZa, a talented artist himself who performs brilliantly during the tour. If you’re in New York, a hip-hop fan or not, do the tour you won’t be disappointed! (Good luck in the UK RayZa, it was a pleasure to meet you).

Mike Z is an awesome tour guide. A hip hop artist himself, he is very knowledgeable of the genre and also of the neighborhood’s history. He knows how to keep the group interested with fun and curious stories.

Such a great experience, especially with RayZa as our tour guide. I really loved his energy and his perspective on things. To top it off he is an amazing artist who freestyled on the spot with ease and impressive skill. I feel like I got more than I paid for, including a “gentrification education”. I learned so much about the origin and history of hip hop, the culture and the community. My only regret is that I didn’t do the tour earlier in the week so could have done the Brooklyn walking tour, which I didn’t know about until on the Harlem walking tour.
