It was very interesting and gave good knowledge. I wasn't aware that the tour didn't actually spend much time in Harvard Square or look inside any buildings tho.

We should have been told when we paid for this tour that we would not be able to enter the gates of Harvard. It didnā€™t make any sense. We had to stay on the sidewalks outside. What?? When I asked if we could go inside the famous freshman dining hall we had come to see, our tour guide snapped at me and said no. Her main focus was to talk about the musical theater at school. We are not interested in musical theater. She kept asking the group questions and when no one answered she would get annoyed. We left the tour after 20 minutes. It was so bad we literally couldnā€™t listen to her anymore and we just walked away. What a waste of money.

I'm very sorry to hear you didn't have the best possible experience. We understand your frustration about the yard, unfortunately Harvard has been very strict about letting large groups in certain sections. Thankfully, you were of course welcome to enter the yard on your own after the tour, and as you would have seen after more than 20min, Harvard's campus is much more expansive than the one yard. The dining hall is certainly famous, but no tour would bring you in there, and in fact even among the students only freshman are allowed inside! (That's part of what makes it so special for them) Finally, we do encourage our guides to incorporate their own experiences and elicit group participation - I apologize if these were not of interest to you! We would be happy to offer a refund as we expect our tours to always be the best!
