Our guide was excellent - a drama student called Mitchell. He was great with anecdotes, especially about Harvard's history of racism and sexism, which was illuminating, especially for a school group. Unfortunately, 'The Yard' (with the oldest buildings) was closed for private functions. We were notified that this was happening far too late to be able to do anything about it, so we went for better or worse. We were promised showing of other 'great parts of the university' that we 'would not normally get the chance to see' as compensation, but when we got to the one building where we might do this, we were not allowed to enter. so essentially it was anecdotes and quite a few rather ugly modern buildings and the catering tents for the private functions. I thought that the company could have been more up front with us and that their advice could have been more timely. And we were a school group of 12 - not a family, but there is no option for this.

So sorry to hear you got hit with Commencement! That's always both a busy and exciting time here in the square. Thanks so much for your feedback; we are always looking for ways to improve our service.

The guide Max (not sure if his is spelt right) did a great job on mixing his personal experience being a biology student at Harvard with the history of Harvard. A lot of fun facts and famous graduates made the 70 minutes pass way to fast.
