What To Expect

Old South Carriage Company

Our stable is where your tour experience will begin and end. After checking in you can say hi to our draft horses, watch an educational video, purchases a bottle of water, or use our restroom. As you board your carriage via our inclined ramp / easy loading platform, your certified tour guide will greet you.This 40 minute after-dark tour covers more than 15 eerie blocks of Charleston's old walled city.

I had my family of 4 on the haunted carriage ride with Austin and Jayson the horse !! We had such a great time ! Austin was so informative and really made the history come alive !!! We highly recommend !!

We absolutely loved Big Mike and Ben. Great knowledge and was interesting for my 5 year old son and my 75 year old mom. We were all interested the entire time and would have loved to go longer. It’s not too scary for little ones and Big Mike was good at reading the crowd about how scary to be. The carriage was comfortable and even though it was raining we stayed dry. Of note I was worried about how the horses might be treated and I was considering not doing the tour. The barn is lovely and the company has all the information on the schedules for the horses. I was satisfied they are not only treated well but they are loved and cared for by the staff. They even get massages! Would recommend and do again. Our only disappointment was we didn’t get to see AC, the barn cat.
