What To Expect

Old South Carriage Company

Our stable is where your tour experience will begin and end. After checking in you can say hi to our draft horses, watch an educational video, purchases a bottle of water, or use our restroom. As you board your carriage via our inclined ramp / easy loading platform, your certified tour guide will greet you.This 40 minute after-dark tour covers more than 15 eerie blocks of Charleston's old walled city.

This was so much fun! We are a family of five (3 kids ages 8, 11, and 16). We were with Austin and the horse was Mac (which I really think should get employee/horse of the month)! Austin was great. Very interesting and informative. We really enjoyed the ghost stories and the history as well. Our favorite story was definitely Lavinia! Highly recommend this ghost tour!!!

Prince pulled our carriage and Shannon was our guide. Shannon is knowledgeable and such fun! We booked the haunted evening carriage ride and loved it. We chose this company because of their love for these beautiful horses, the history of family ownership and the obvious excellent care that these horses receive. Do yourself a favor and book with them, support their family business and you will have a very enjoyable memorable experience and learn some very interesting history in the process. Ask for Shannon & Prince!!!

They over crowd the carriage. The seats are not made for 4 adults, especially when the one next to you is taking up a seat and a half. Also microphones should be used. If you are sitting in the back you can not hear a thing!! At $45.00 a person, I sure expected a whole lot more. ! Save your money, go on a different tour!

Hey Marla, thank you for sharing your thoughts on the tour. We have the largest and most comfortable carriages in town however it sounds like yall may have needed some space. Sorry to hear that the experience was compromised by the seating arrangement, please contact management and we would like to make sure we get you out on a carriage with more room next time.
