Haunted Memphis Walking Ghost Tour

Overview
Enjoy the darker side of Memphis and hear tales of the city's haunted heritage as told by professional storytellers. The city’s South Main Historic District – an eclectic, colorful area with some of the city’s oldest buildings – has a long history of sensational murders and ghostly activity. On this two-hour walking tour, you'll visit a number of haunted sites, including:
• The Orpheum Theater, home of "Mary," who has haunted performances since 1921
• The John Alexander Austin House, a Victorian era mansion haunted by star-crossed lovers
• The notorious Ernestine & Hazel's, a former brothel long recognized as one of the most haunted buildings in Memphis. We'll take you inside this creepy establishment, home to several ghosts as well as a haunted jukebox.

Great tour!! It was very interesting and informative. Some of the history was very surprising, Yellow Fever, for example.

Yellow Fever is definitely one of the most intriguing stories we tell on this tour, and always a crowd favorite. Thanks so much for leaving such a kind review for us. We hope to see you again in the future!

Although the guide was super sweet, it was a boring walk around town. The storytelling was weak and drab, a lot if walking in silence and very little excitement. We didn’t go to Earnestine and Hazels. We thought it odd that we had a man escorting our tour guide for safety but then we were left at the end of town In a dark area to walk back alone. I was glad I was not alone.

Sorry to hear you had a disappointing time, Ren. Thanks for your comments. First, please note that Earnestine & Hazel’s is closed due to the pandemic. As far as the ending goes, the tour ends on the corner of Beale and Main Streets, just two blocks from Alfred’s (the starting location) and hardly the edge of town. But I’ll definitely refresh our guides on giving a detailed orientation to everyone before departing so everyone knows where they are and where they’re going. Thanks.
