Old Jail Museum

Get ready for an up close and personal encounter of the town’s most haunted building, the Old Jail. Listed on the Florida and National Register of Haunted Places and is the site of countless documented paranormal experiences. Unlock the secret of an (EVP) voice recording captured during a real paranormal investigation and its possible connection to the well-known hangings carried out on the site. Cameras or camera phones are recommended to take pictures through the building’s famous and ominous windows and potentially capture something unworldly! Send us your pictures and we will evaluate them for paranormal activity and may even share them on our social media pages.

This was a fun and informative tour of St Augustine at night. Said to be one of the most haunted cities, there are a plethora of ghost tours. How do you decide which one is best? What I liked about this one is it didn’t give all these hokey, fake pictures or recording of “ghosts” or haunting. They narrated a trolley tour with stories based on factual accounts that had been written down. They weren’t so much tales of hauntings as tales of deaths that could explain sightings that people have seen. The deaths were the actual facts. The sightings have been reported multiple times by many, many people. It was more logical. I liked that. Here’s what I didn’t like, and this is dumb. I’m a logical person and I like facts. But I like them to match. I went to the jail earlier in the day. I got a story told to me by one “inmate.” On the ghost tour, the same story was told, but some of the details were different. The same thing at Potter’s museum. They were little details, but if these are facts, then they should be the same. Other than that, I got a REALLY weird image on a picture that is now creeping me out. Crap.

It was such a fun experience. I loved going into the wax museum at night to hear the story of the pirate Andrew. Michael was a great tour guide.

We did two “ghost” tours while we were in Saint Augustine for vacation. Of the two our favorite was the ghost and gravestones tour. The sites we went to were more interesting, the tour guide knew a lot of history and interesting facts, and some of the performers on the tour we’re also very good. I would highly recommend this one over any of the other ones. Plus, you don’t have to walk everywhere.
