Old Jail Museum

Get ready for an up close and personal encounter of the town’s most haunted building, the Old Jail. Listed on the Florida and National Register of Haunted Places and is the site of countless documented paranormal experiences. Unlock the secret of an (EVP) voice recording captured during a real paranormal investigation and its possible connection to the well-known hangings carried out on the site. Cameras or camera phones are recommended to take pictures through the building’s famous and ominous windows and potentially capture something unworldly! Send us your pictures and we will evaluate them for paranormal activity and may even share them on our social media pages.

GHOSTS AND GRAVESTONES TROLLEY TOUR: I wasted my money. Our trolley stopped outside of a graveyard and the guide told a few stories while we stood at the fence looking in. They took us outside of the Castillo de San Marco and our guide told a story as we looked on from in the trolley. We ACTUALLY went inside the wax museum and our guide told a lame story about a man who didnt die from hanging. Since it was the only building we went inside, it was sad that there were curtains covering all the displays (would have been really creepy) but all we got was a walk through the facility and that hanging story. We drove by the old jail and our guide told a story while we sat outside and looked at the building. The only good thing I can say about this tour was there were several options as to times to take the tour. Several people got off the trolley and left during the tour.

Honestly, I was just hot the entire time. The seats are meant for 2, but hubby and I aren't thin, so it was a tight fit. The trolley ride was fine. The highlight was going into the wax museum at night. No jump scares or anything, but the creepy factor is there. Very tame. If you have Littles, this would be the tour to take them on. Guides were nice and knowledgeable.

You do no go inside the jail, you pull up to the front while the tour operator talks. Then leave. Never getting off the bus. And the wax museum is straight to one room for some "pretend" skit, then right back out. All wax characters were covered and closed off (except in the one room). Also. Tour is on a bus. Not the same trolleys as daytime. I was looking forward to a true "trolley". Rest of tour drove past areas as story was told. The guide did not have a good story telling voice. She was nice. But not meant for story telling. Driver seemed like he would rather be doing anything else but be at work. We had fun looking at the town area at night as we drove by. The check in staff was friendly.
