Finish up with 3 tasters and 1 pint of our internationally award-winning beer. Tour involves walking up and down stairs and maneuvering between pipes between the ceiling and floor.

Our guide was fun and full of interesting, and historical stories. She guided us through the underground which was spooky and adeptly managed to avoid any close encounters with the supernatural.

We were excited to go on the Haunted Shanghai Tunnel tour during our recent visit to Portland. The tour started from the Old Town Pizza, in the Chinatown area. The architecture of the old Merchant Hotel, the bar area, and the history, lore, and hauntings are what makes this special. Our tour guide did a great job of weaving the stories together with the ambiance in the underground tunnel. At the conclusion of the tour we went up to the main bar area for a beer tasting and complimentary glass of beer. Tips: Make sure you use the clean restrooms prior to going down to the tunnel. If you are not comfortable in small spaces and ducking, this may not be the tour for you. Finally, if you have major allergies to dust and mold then bring a respirator mask.

The tour was pretty much what we expected. We are both skeptics of ghosts, etc. but went on the tour for fun with an open mind. Our guide was a little too animated for both of us and we felt her need to be loud and animated at every noise was more a distraction.
