We decided to do this tour the night before when none of us could agree on exactly what to do the following day. It turned out to be the most fun thing we did all weekend. There are two tours to choose from and we went with the Taste of Healdsburg Tour. It is basically an easy breezy walk through the very cute town of Healdsburg with stops at various restaurants along the way. We stopped at Campo Fina, Bear Republic, Costeaux, Cartograph, Shed and the Spoonbar. Along the way, we got plenty of samplings from each restaurant and a feel for what brought them (chef/owner) to the wine country and Healdsburg in particular. Along the way we learned a little bit about the region itself. Tammy, our hostess for the day, proved to be very likeable and kept it light and fun and inviting for all. She was also careful about asking us about allergies, etc just in case she might have needed to substitute a food item or two. I thought in the end it was a great introduction to the city of Healdsburg along with ideas from Tammy about what to do with the rest of our weekend. Lastly, the tour lasted about 3 hrs and was easy to walk from location to location with ample opportunity to ask questions, enjoy your friends and take in the town scenery. I might like to retire here someday!

It was a few days after Christmas that my five of my friends and I went on the Savor Healdsburg Food Tour. We started at The Wurst which was a great way to kick off the tour. After enjoying different sausages and unique ketchup we set out by foot to our next stop. Along the way, Tammy, our tour guide, shared history and fun facts about the adorable town of Healdsburg. Tammy knew her stuff! She obviously has created relationships with the restaurants as she knows so much about each place and the chefs and/or owners. The next stop, and probably the groups favorite was Bravas. It felt so special to be there as the restaurant hadn't quite opened yet so we had the place to our selves. The food was delicious and the environment was too cute! I can't wait to go back! After leaving Bravas we moved on to a few more places. All the while enjoying the charming town and talking with Tammy about all the local favorites. This is a great tour for someone looking for something a bit different than wine tasting. Healdsburg has so much to offer on the culinary front and it was nice to have a local, and obviously someone who is passionate about her town and the food within, lead the way.

As a local of Sonoma County (Santa Rosa), I was really impressed that Savor Healdsburg introduced me to new places. Tammy (the owner) catered the tour to meet the interests of all the guests. Since my boyfriend and I have two dogs, Tammy told us which places were dog friendly. A couple of the restaurants had patios in the back that you couldn't see from the street, so I would have never guessed they were dog friendly! I'm also a vegetarian and all the stops were accommodating and welcoming. Tammy gave us information on the restaurant owners/chefs at each stop, as well as the history of some of the sights in Healdsburg. Fun walking from stop to stop. And no trip to Healdsburg would be complete without some wine tasting too!
