I went on the Food Tour last weekend with two girl friends and it was excellent. Our guide had lived in the area all of her life and came from a family of wine makers. Our tour started at 11am with a Tea Room. We tasted several different teas and had some treats. Then we headed to a Italian Restaurant for some amazing meatballs, honey glazed carrots, hand made bread and a delicious Zin. Next, we tasted flight of red wine at a small family winemaker. I bought a bottle of their Pinot. We walked to another restaurant and ate scallops and corn rolls with a light white wine called vinho verde. Then we went to the Shed for some great coleslaw, olives, carrot tahini and crisp crackers. We ended with an amazing cupcake! It couldn't have been more perfect. The three hours flew by. We were so full we had to spend the next few hours touring the quaint little town.

My girlfriend and I saw the listing in the SF Chronicle about the Savor food tour! It was far more than we expected. We were there during the week and we were the only ones on the tour so had a wonderful time with visiting, sampling the food with drinks too! I think she customizes what we are interested in and was sure to not do a food, which I am allergic to. I am sure when I recommend a visit to Healdsburg to friends, it will also include A high recommendation of taking the food tour with Tammy at Savor!

Whether you're a foodie or not, on your own or with a group, a first time visitor or long time wine country native, I would undoubtedly recommend joining Tammy and Savor to get an incredible downtown walking tour and sampling of the local vendors and restaurants available in Healdsburg. Start to finish, working with Tammy and taking the Savor tour was a 5 star experience. Before finding Tammy and Savor I tried organizing a wine country tour for 10 pp with the typical bus shuttle and handful of winery locations. I had numerous frustrations coordinating with sales people, locking in headcount, food, and getting price quotes, which ultimately led me to look for other options while entertaining out of town family and friends for my Dad's 70th Birthday celebration. I was so happy to get in touch with Tammy who made the entire process seamless and simple from logistics of the walking tour, the recommended restaurant and winery locations, her relationships and reputation with each place, the food and drink items she picked for us, customization to the individuals in my group, payment, etc. Tammy was unfortunately sick when we made it to the day of our tour. Regardless we had another tour guide with the same professionalism named, Liz. Liz did an outstanding job entertaining the group and answering any questions we had. She knew tons of information about the town of Healdsburg, other local and even overseas wine country, food, restaurants, wine, history, and she knew many of the locals we passed by or met on our tour. The entire Saturday tour was 3.5 hours. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we could have gone longer, but our stomachs were completely full and satisfied with the amount and quality of food and drinks that were provided during the day. This tour in an incredible value. Tammy set up our last stop (out of 5) at a local Bakery that presented birthday cupcakes for my Dad's 70th along with a birthday card from Tammy and Savor that was very thoughful. All of this can't go without saying that all servers and staff were very accommodating and food/drink offerings were delicious at every stop - Campo Fina, Bravas, Gustafson Winery, and Shed. Our entire group of 10 said the next time they visit Healdsburg they would want to take the tour for a second time. Enjoy!
