Helicopter Glacier Dogsled Tour + Lower Glacier Landing - ANCHORAGE AREA

Overview
The ultimate multi activity package: a helicopter tour, a dogsled tour and a landing on the lower glacier to explore the melt pools and crevasses.

Start this adventure with a spectacular helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and mountain goats. Land on a huge snow field high on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with Alaskan sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer long. Take the dog team for an exhilarating dogsled ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team if you want, or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team.

After the tour the helicopter takes you to the lower glaciers where you will land on the hard ice between the crevasses to see the majestic blue melt pools.

My husband and I did this yesterday. It was amazing. One of the best top 5 things I have done in my life. 1st of all our pilot Chris was great. Here is a very skilled pilot and the landings and take offs were as smooth as could be. He was very nice to talk with and he answered all of our questions. The dog camp was so awesome. We talked with rick there and he was our musher. We got to visit with the dogs before the ride. The sled we took had two places for people. I sat in the front on the 1st part and my husband stood in the back. Halfway through we changed places so we each got to experience that. when you are sitting in the front you can take video. When you are standing in the back you just have to hold on. The whole thing was absolutely fantastic and Rick is just the best. He was so nice and informative and seemed happy to talk with us. He clearly loves and cares so much for his dogs. We were the only people there that day at that time so we had all of his attention and it was just the best thing. The dogs pee often before throughout and after the trip. If you are worried about getting peed on, this is not the activity for you. However they do provide snow boots that go on top of your regular shoes and are waterproof so it should not go through to your own shoes. When we finished with the dogs we got back in the helicopter and went to the lower glacier to see the pools that are clear blue. Chris gave us a lot of information about it and he was so kind to take pictures of us out there. We were the only people on the glacier and again it was an unreal experience. This trip is not cheap but we splurged because we were on our honeymoon. It was definitely worth the money for this experience. I would recommend this to anybody. You do have to report your weight when you make the reservation and they also weigh you in 30 minutes before you get on the flight, too. It is important to tell them your real weight so they can get the right seating arrangement. They were discreet and did not shout it out or anything like that. There is a $150 charge if you weigh over 250 lbs , but you can still do the tour. This was an amazing experience. I definitely recommend this !!!

We had a fantastic experience with this company. From the on-time pick up to the dog sledding to the Glacier landing to the delivery back at our hotel, They exceeded our expectations. The wonderful staff were very warm and professional. Our pilot was calm and knowledgeable- we felt very safe during the helicopter ride. Highly recommend!!
