Overview

The ultimate multi activity package: a helicopter tour, a dogsled tour and a landing on the lower glacier to explore the melt pools and crevasses.

Start this adventure with a spectacular helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and mountain goats. Land on a huge snow field high on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with Alaskan sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer long. Take the dog team for an exhilarating dogsled ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team if you want, or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team.

After the tour the helicopter takes you to the lower glaciers where you will land on the hard ice between the crevasses to see the majestic blue melt pools.

Due to comfort and weight / balance of the aircraft, passengers weighing over 250 pounds including clothing and luggage will be required to pay a surcharge of $150. This is payable directly to the tour operator on the day of the tour.

This was the coolest thing my husband and I have ever done! The pilots were great, we saw 2 mother black bears with 5 cubs on the way to dog camp. The dogs were amazing, our musher was really informative and the sledding was so fun. The glacier walk was great too. I didn’t know what to expect but this was way more than I could have hoped.

Booked out of Palmer Knik River Lodge and Helicopter pad both the Dog Sled on the glacier with additional glacier walking trips for a family of 8 - grandparents ages 76 & 83), 2 parents and 4 kids, ages 6-14. Awesome time aboard 2 separate helicopters due to size of party. Due to weather, our dog sled portion had to be cancelled but got extended time walking on the lower altitude glacier. So much fun! Awesome experience of all of us. AND the refund for the Dog Sled portion was in my email within 2 hours. PS. We were able to book a Dog Sled tour out of Talkeetna for the next day - same dog family of champions - rocketing along dirt and mud trails. Had a blast there too! Don't miss this experience! It is awesome on a glacier...

It was a majestic experience would recommend to everyone going to Alaska. Dog sledding was super neat and landing on the lower glacier was an experience like no other, words can’t describe how beautiful it was! Our pilot Shad Burnham was amazing and very informative!
