Hell's Revenge 4x4 Off-Roading Tour from Moab

Overview
Cruise off the beaten path by UTV (utility terrain vehicle) to explore the Hell's Revenge Trail on a 2.5-hour off-road adventure from Moab. With an experienced guide leading the way, you will drive a Kawasaki Teryx 4 — a 4x4 vehicle equipped for traversing sandstone domes and slickrock ledges. The difficult route combines the thrill of steep climbs and descents with views of La Sal Mountains, Grandstaff Canyon and Abyss Canyon. Travel in a small group of up to four vehicles with a maximum of four passengers per vehicle.

Hell's Revenge
Within 10 minutes of Moab, you are at the Hell's Revenge Trail, full of steep ridges and roller-coaster terrain. Follow your experienced guide along a thrilling route that takes you crawling up a rock incline called Devil’s Backbone. Hold on as your 4x4 jostles along the slickrock, formed from Navajo sandstone, before you descend into a low point in the narrow canyon, named Lake Michigan for the water that pools there.

So much fun! Guide was informative and gave instructions to make us feel safe and confident. I’m short, 5’2”, and the seat belt rubbed my neck so I would advise any shorties like me to bring a bit of padding for the seat belt.

We had a blast on this 4x4 tour! My husband drove and our two sons (ages 10 and 13) took turns switching into the front seat. Our tour guide Ben made the trip fun and safe with his calm instruction on navigating, interesting and educational information at each stop and his overall humor. Crazy climbs, cool landscape and beautiful weather. We will definitely book this tour again next time we’re in Moab. Thanks T-Rex 4x4 tours for a great family memory!

You have to do this tour!!!!! Make sure you have Ben as your tour guide. He is the BEST! I was so happy that Larry had the day off. Ben made everyone feel confident driving and insisted that the ladies all take a turn. I wasn't going to but he convinced me to try. Well, I did and so thankful that I did. I had never even drove a 4 x4 before! I survived. I liked being the passenger better. I can't say enough. It is worth every penny to do this. You ride and learn about the area. Ben even took all of our pictures at several different stops. There might be many places to rent while in Moab but this is the one to do.

Thanks so much for your review and for the kind words! We love Ben too, he's pretty awesome. You are right, there are many places here in Moab to rent 4x4s, but that experience is definitely not the same as a guided "U-drive" tour. You get to have the adventure of driving, along with benefitting from the experience and knowledge of your guide. It's the way to go, for sure!
